I needed a router to inlay veneer in a table top and bought this router just for that purpose. What terrible disappointment. SLOP in the plunging mechanism makes it impossible to do precision work. Only a robot pressing straight down on the center of the router could plunge it without deflecting the bit to one side or the other, but of course if I had a CNC robot I wouldn't be buying a router in the first place.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.Nice Router for hardware mortisingBy Montana Sliver PickerThis is a nice light weight router for door or other hardware mortising. It is missing the led light that is present on other makita tools which is a drawback. I have also not been able to locate the dust port accessory that is offered as no one at makita can give me a proper answer for availability...slightly annoying to offer an accesory and then not be able to tell the customer how to get it. Overall performs as stated and plunges nicely and good speed of bit rotation although 24k rpm may control heat better on any bigger mortising bits. Nice tool!See all 3 customer reviews...
