The tungsten carbide teeth stay sharp a lot longer. Good for stainless steel which can get harder as it is being drilled if it gets hot. We have started to use the new Blue Boar TCT hole cutters for stainless steel instead of the Makita and Greenlee ones. The Blue Boar cost half as much and cut just as well and we like being able to use them on a regular hole saw mandrel and that they use 1/4" pilot bits.
